Chargers News · Indiana Next Generation Education Scholarship Information

Students:  Please read the following from IHSAA Commissioner Bobby Cox.  This is a tremendous opportunity for those going into the field of Education in college.

As stated within the Articles of Incorporation of the IHSAA, the Corporation shall cooperate with agencies vitally concerned with the health and educational welfare of secondary student.  It is with this spirit that we enthusiastically support the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and their Next Generation Hoosier Educator Scholarship program.  It is generally accepted that the ranks of teachers in our state are declining.  It is without question that secondary educators have a profound impact on our high school students and subsequently, the IHSAA wishes to support positive efforts to bring bright and talented individuals into the teaching profession.

Indiana is offering a new scholarship aimed at helping help the next generation of Hoosier teachers pay for college. The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship provides up to $7,500 each year for four academic years to 200 high-achieving students interested in pursuing a career in education. In exchange, students agree to teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school. Students must be nominated by a current teacher, counselor or administrator and have a completed nomination form prior to applying. Students may apply at and applications are due by11:59pm EST on November 30, 2017.  Please contact with any questions.

Thank you for your consideration of this opportunity for your students and please accept our best wishes for continued success at your school.
