West Noble senior football standout Spencer Shrock will be continuing his football and academic career this fall at Taylor University in Upland, IN. The two time All NECC selection and 2017 MVP award winner will play the slot position for the NAIA Trojans while majoring in Communications.
Taylor University is coached by Ron Korfmacher who is going into his 11th season at the school. Korfmacher is the all time winningest coach in Taylor history. Assistant Coach Solomon Grimes is excited about bring Shrock on board. “Spencer brings a great work ethic to our team along with good hands and athleticism. He is a very coachable kid and is a good teammate. We look forward to working with Spencer athletically, academically and spiritually. He is a good fit for Taylor.”
The 2 sport standout Shrock is looking forward to the challenges that await at Taylor. “I really look forward to being on campus. I loved meeting the team when I visited. They were all very nice and they seemed to enjoy being around each other. I really liked the Christian atmosphere at the school. It seemed like a really good place to be.”
West Noble football coach Monte Mawhorter is going to miss the speedster Shrock next fall. “Spencer is a great teammate. Over the last 4 years we have ask Spencer to do a lot of things for the team and he always had a great attitude about it. He obviously is a very talented young man, but the growth in his leadership was fun to watch. He comes from a great family and I certainly look forward to following his career at Taylor.” Shrock rushed for nearly 1000 career yards and a 1000 career receiving yards.
Spencer is the son of Sherman and Penny Shrock of Ligonier. Congratulations Spencer, we are proud of you!
