Kristina “Nina” Teel signed a letter of intent to attend Grace College in the Fall and continue her Volleyball career. The 5’10” setter plans on majoring in Health Science with an emphasis on Dental Concentration at the Winona Lake campus. She currently has over a 4.0 gpa at WN while being recognized as an Academic All State player, team MVP, 4 time KPC All Area and 4 time All NECC first team. Teel finished her career at West Noble with 2751 assists, 650 digs, 322 kills and 164 aces.
Nina is looking forward to the experience at Grace. “I wanted to attend a Christian college where I could pursue my degree and play volleyball. I love the coaches, players and atmosphere at the school. I am just really excited to get started.”
Grace College Head Coach Katie Van Hofwegen just finished her 5th season this past Fall. The Lancers made it to the semi finals of the conference tourney behind the strong play of senior setter Alexa Hill who was named 3rd team All American. Van Hofwegan is excited to get Teel on campus. “Nina has a great volleyball IQ and sees the game really well. She has soft hands and solid skills. She obviously sets the ball really well, but she also is an excellent defensive player as well. The staff is certainly looking forward to getting her on campus.”
West Noble Volleyball assistant coach Bill Lucas will certainly miss working with his ace setter. “Nina is an outstanding person and player. Her leadership will be missed in the program. It has been a lot of fun working with Nina over the years. She has grown tremendously as a volleyball player and has left a huge mark on the program.” The Chargers have been 100-42 during Teel’s tenure while also winning 2 sectional championships, 2 NECC Tourney titles and 1 NECC regular season championship.
Kristina is the daughter of Gene and Jenifer Teel of Ligonier.
