West Noble Chargers Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat
West Noble Chargers Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-1 loss to Goshen on Wednesday. Goshen scored on a groundout by A Ellison in the second inning.
The West Noble Chargers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Goshen, giving up seven runs.
West Noble Chargers Varsity knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning, when Randy Villanueva hit a solo homer.
Goshen pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Ellison grounded out, scoring one run.
Goshen scored three runs in the third inning. C Turner and M Daniels each drove in runs during the inning.
Daniels earned the win for Goshen. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out six and walking one. J Turner threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Villanueva took the loss for West Noble Chargers Varsity. The bulldog lasted six innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out nine.
West Noble Chargers Varsity socked one home run on the day. Villanueva had a four bagger in the first inning.
Villanueva went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead West Noble Chargers Varsity in hits.
