The Lady Chargers suffered their second defeat 41-34 to a tough Goshen team Tuesday night. West Noble got off to a slow start and battled from behind nearly the entire game. As always, the effort was fantastic but the ladies just came up short in the second half.
Leading the way was Lauren Burns with 9, Tara Miller had 6 with Maddie Schermerhorn and Angela Gross adding 5 a piece. Others on the board included Tori Miller and Kristina Teel with 3, Megan Godfrey 2 and Nichelle Phares with 1. West Noble’s record now stands at 7-2 with the next game Friday at home against conference foe Churubusco.
In the JV matchup West Noble came out on top in thrilling fashion as Tori Franklin stepped to the line with no time remaining on the clock to hit two free throws for the 29-28 victory. With the Chargers down 13-12 at halftime, they found themselves behind by as many as 11 points in the fourth quarter before they rallied for 17 points to put Tori to the line for the victory. Lilly Mast lead on the board with 12, Erin Shoemaker had another solid game with 7 while Angela Caldwell had 4 big points down the stretch. Taytlynn Forrer had 2 while Tori Franklin made the first basket and the scored the last points of the game to end up with 4. The JV Chargers record now stands at 7-1.
