West Noble Chargers Varsity Softball team defeated Goshen 11-8 thanks to a strong start. West Noble Chargers Varsity scored on a groundout by Kacee Click in the first inning, a double by Tori Franklin in the second inning, a double by Julia Vargas in the second inning, a double by Click in the second inning, a single by Taytlynn Forrer in the second inning, and a home run by Hailey Moser in the second inning.
West Noble Chargers Varsity collected nine hits and Goshen had nine in the high-scoring affair.
In the bottom of the first inning, Goshen tied things up at one. Tyra Marcum doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
West Noble Chargers Varsity pulled away for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Franklin doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Vargas doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Click doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Forrer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Moser homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
Goshen scored three runs in the fifth inning. Goshen’s big inning was driven by a single by Isabel Degraff and a home run by Marcum.
Click pitched West Noble Chargers Varsity to victory. The ace went five and a third innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out six. Franklin threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Marcum led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Goshen. The pitcher lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out nine. Emily Ramirez and Kareena Ulfig entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
West Noble Chargers Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Moser had a four bagger in the second inning.
West Noble Chargers Varsity totaled nine hits in the game. Moser and Forrer all had multiple hits for West Noble Chargers Varsity. Forrer and Moser all had two hits to lead West Noble Chargers Varsity. West Noble Chargers Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Forrer had the most chances in the field with ten.
Goshen saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Olivia Koshmider, Marcum, and Degraff all managed multiple hits for Goshen.
